2018: Day 8, Part 1
Katarina Johnson-Thompson is the headline act from a busy morning at the 2018 European Championships. The multi-sport competition is being co-hosted by Glasgow and Berlin and the morning's action begins on the track at the Olympic Stadium in Germany.\n\nJohnson-Thompson is bidding to win a third major title of an already-memorable 2018 having taken Commonwealth and world indoor gold already this season.\n\nOlympic bronze medallist Sophie Hitchon is in action in hammer qualifying, while fellow Rio 2016 bronze medallist Dina Asher-Smith begins the defence of her title in the 200m heats. And in a morning session loaded with talented British women, double European indoor champion Laura Muir hopes to comfortably progress through the 1500m heats.
