Following the experiences of 13-year-old Danny, a boy who has faced extraordinary challenges from the day he was born.\n\nShowing how humour, courage and the love of family can illuminate the darkest of times, Danny’s documentary uses extensive home videos from his life and professionally shot footage to document one brave boy’s battle back from a devastating medical disaster.\n\nWe meet Danny and his family and learn about Alfi’s Syndrome, the chromosomal condition he was born with. The film tells the story of his early years through to the challenges he faced in 2017 when, devastatingly, Danny was paralysed from the neck down.\n\nThis is a story about the resilience of an incredible young boy. The prognosis was bleak, but Danny was determined to walk again. Early archive footage shows how Danny used to be able to play football before his condition deteriorated, and a present-day trip to visit Chelsea Football Club shows how important football still is to him and his recovery.\n\nWe witness Danny’s ongoing medical treatment and his exhausting physio sessions, where even a few steps take it out of him. He knows none of this would have been possible without the help of hospital staff, friends and family, so he decides to throw a party to thank them.
