Twelve-year-old Cara from Northern Ireland loves fashion, but is frustrated at the lack of clothes available for children who are small like her. She has achondroplasia, and at 3’ 5” it is impossible to find clothes she likes and that fit her size and shape.\n\nFamiliar to CBBC viewers from her appearances in The Dengineers and Craft Party, Cara explains that clothes designed for average-height 12-year-old girls just don’t fit her. Everything she buys has to be altered by her amazing granny.\n\nCara is proud to be a little person, and feels strongly that the fashion industry doesn’t think about kids like her when they are designing clothes. So when fashion designers Amanda Rabor and Tara Hanif get in touch to say they wouldd love to talk to Cara, she doesn’t know what to expect!\n\nBoth Amanda and Tara have worked in the fashion industry for years, and their designs are really eye-catching. Amanda shares Cara’s belief that the fashion world needs to be more inclusive, so after reading about Cara and the challenges she faces when it comes to finding clothes she likes, she just knew she had to do something to help.\n\nOver the next few months, Cara works closely with Amanda and Tara creating a capsule collection of clothes for children with dwarfism. Amanda and Tara are the design experts, but Cara knows from personal experience what kids like her need when it comes to clothes, so together they make a great team!\n\nWhen the clothes are finally ready, Cara models the new collection at a photo shoot.
