We meet Lauren, a trainee based at Hunslet station in Leeds. She’s approaching her rigorous ‘12- monthly’ assessment which determines whether she can assume full firefighter responsibilities. The crew from Leeds Central is called to a city-centre dock, where there are reports of a man acting erratically on a bridge. Watch Commander Steve co-ordinates an urgent search with the police to get the man to safety. Soon after, Leeds firefighters are called to a very different type of challenge – a rapidly spreading fire inside a huge chair factory. Watch Commander Steve makes the difficult call to send in Daz and Hassan with breathing apparatus to see if they can locate the fire amid the gloom and smoke.
