Bailey, an old St Bernard dog, lives happily with his owners, Ethan and Hannah. Their daughter-in-law Gloria is living with them and their baby granddaughter CJ after the death of their only son in a car crash. Bailey is aware of the tensions in the family, and as his soul prepares to leave this life for a new one, he promises Ethan that he will always be there to protect CJ.
