Nightclub singer Ally meets country star Jackson Maine by chance, and the minute he sees her perform it's love at first sight. Jackson helps Ally reach the international audience she deserves, and they make a great team, but Jackson's alcoholism threatens to derail everything. Jackson begins to feel he's just holding Ally back, but their love remains strong throughout.
