Caesar arrives in Egypt in 48 BC to settle the dispute between Ptolemy and his sister, Cleopatra, who is denied her rightful power. Caesar reinstates Cleopatra as sole ruler and returns with her in triumph to Rome. But her passionate affair with Mark Antony leads to scandal, deadly political plots and tragedy.
