Marie Gentles OBE is a behaviour expert who believes a compassionate approach is the best way to help young people change their behaviours.\n\nAt Beacon Hill Academy in Dudley, West Midlands, Marie continues to work with year ten student Jayliyah, a student at risk of permanent exclusion. Jayliyah had been making good progress, but she has recently been suspended again.\n\nScott in year seven has anxiety about school and hasn’t attended a mainstream lesson since he started Beacon Hill. He’s on reduced hours and works in a small quiet room away from the rest of the school. With Marie’s help, will Scott find the confidence to get back into class?\n\nMarie also works with Oliver in year seven. He has an autism diagnosis and is struggling to navigate life at secondary school.
