A new year begins, bringing new life and new experiences. Carianne and her brother-in-law Alexander take Faillish the bull to the Oban Highland Show, hoping to bag a rosette and sell him for a good price. But Carianne is nervous about being in charge.\n\nIn South Ayrshire, lambing starts early with a flock of pedigree Suffolks. It’s all hands to the pump for the whole family, with the twins Cameron and Finlay rising early to help out before school.\n\nFor Rachel and Camy in Inverkip, the time has come to scan their ewes to see how many are pregnant – a big moment of truth for their fledgling breeding programme. But first they must navigate the hills surrounding Dunrod Farm to find them all.
