A collection that has taken over a house needs to go. David, a collector for over 40 years, has decided now is the time to part with his most cherished items. In fear of burdening his children in the event of his death, David wants to cash in on a clear-out and use the money raised to help others.\n\nA huge collection of rare cocktail shakers, hundreds of intricately made boxes from Russia and some select pieces of porcelain all need to be assessed before auction day. With the support of his wife, Sarah, and their two children, can David find the willpower to let his collection go under the gavel? \n\nAuctioneer and antiques expert Christina Trevanion is blown away by David’s knowledge of silver and Russian folk art and admires his carefully curated collection of cocktail shakers. However, while she didn’t expect to find mice in the bedroom, she isn’t surprised when she finds the Russian lady playing hide-and-seek.\n\nA side table languishing in the garden shed sees restorer Robin Johnson set to work on its huge crack, while an American rocking chair makes a worrying noise and requires stripping and some intimate TLC. But will it ‘stand’ out at auction?\n\nChristina feels the pressure at the rostrum on auction day as David watches on with his family while the beloved life-long collection goes under the gavel. A chunk of the cash raised will go to mental health charities, but will everyone be toasting success after the cocktail shakers sell to the highest bidder?
