Ben Fogle and Kate Humble return for week of dramatic stores at Longleat, Britain’s wildest safari park. Every morning, the first job on the team’s to-do list is to make sure all the animals are present and correct. Up in the drive-through safari, it is particularly important, because that is where some of the planet’s most ferocious animals live. But today, there is a problem. Keeper Caleb has picked up a call on the radio – an animal has escaped. How will Caleb and the rest of the team react as the park goes into lockdown?\n\nDown in Animal Adventure, it is an emotional day for keeper Sam as she prepares to say farewell to Pema and Tica, the ten-month-old red pandas. The park is playing a crucial part in the global breeding programme of this endangered species, but it is vital that the pandas stay in the best possible condition, so Kate Humble heads over to see if Rafina is putting on weight.\n\nMeanwhile, down at the gorilla house, the vets have been called. Recently, the keepers have noticed that Alfie the gorilla has had a recurring infection in his jaw. If they don’t get to the root cause of the problem, it could prevent Alfie from eating, and he could die. The vets have taken the decision to sedate Alfie for further investigation but when they find a lump, they decide to operate there and then. With the lump removed, Alfie stitched up and the anaesthetic reversal administered, the vets and keepers must get out of Alfie’s pen, but when they realise Alfie isn’t breathing, will the vet risk going back in with a 150kg gorilla? And what is the lump?\n\nBack in Animal Adventure, Jean Johansson checks in with keeper Kim and Orville the corn snake. Today, Orville is set to stretch out as he goes for a swim – something that aids digestion. But neither Jean or Kim expect the benefits of swimming to kick in quite so suddenly. When you have got to go, you have got to go!
