Series 1: 11. War and Trade

Cyril Aldred explores how important the army had become in New Kingdom times - Tutankhamun's two immediate successors on the throne of Egypt were both generals.\n\nEgypt's military and economic influence stretched from Nubia in the south to Anatolia in the north. New devices like the chariot and trumpet backed up this new outward-looking attitude and, in the realms of diplomacy, treaties have survived that would not appear out of place in modern times.\n
